Updating Taxes

Overview

This topic describes how to add or update Tax Districts and the corresponding Tax Rates. Taxes rarely need updating, so they're hidden away in the New Customer window, the only place where you use them.

Actually, you don't use them at all in the Free Edition. The only reason taxes are included here is because all Morning Flight editions use the same data files. Setting up taxes now will save you from having to update each customer later, one at a time, if you decide to upgrade to Morning Flight Gold to get Job Entry and Invoicing.

2.Enter the new Tax District and Tax Name.
3.Enter the Type of Tax and the Percentage.
4.If Shipping is taxable, check the box.
4.Click OK to accept and close the New Tax window.
5.ButtonOne To make the new Tax District your Primary District, place the highlight bar over it in the Tax Selection window, then click the Number 1 button.

ANote
The Primary District is what Morning Flight will default to when you're adding a new Customer.

6.Click the Exit button on the Tax Selection window, then on the Customer Update window to close them both. Because we clicked OK when we closed the New Tax window, the Tax District has already been saved.
