The Icons

Browsing2

A check mark tells you it's a program-generated standard product, currently active and available for quotes.

A red bullet shows a standard product that you've deactivated with the delete button and thereby blocked from being used in quotes.

An empty circle signifies a program-generated mandatory product that can't be deactivated.

A number 1 icon identities your current primary product, the product your quote window will default to when it opens.

No icon means it's a self-made product, one you generated yourself. You can delete those as quickly and as easily as you made them.

ANote
Standard products are products created by the program. They can't be deleted, but their status can be changed from active to inactive, and back again, by clicking the delete button. Mandatory products, needless to say, can neither be deleted nor deactivated. Products of your own making are the least persistent. When you delete a product you created yourself, it's not deactivated - it's deleted from the file.
