Converting to Windows 7, 8, 10, or Vista

Overview

This topic describes what you need to do when you convert your operating system from XP to Windows 7, 8, 10, or Vista. All Morning Flight programs will run under Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and Vista without modification, provided there is only one user per machine.

Multiple Users

If you expect to set up multiple user accounts on the same computer,

1.Create a new folder in the root (example C:\MorningFlight).

2.Copy and paste all your current .TPS files into that folder. To find out where those files are located, please click the link "Backing up your Data" below.

3.Install Morning Flight into that same folder (into C:\MorningFlight, not into C:\Program Files).

The sequence of doing this is important. There may have been changes in the structure of some of your .TPS files. By loading the files first and then installing Morning Flight over them, the program will recognize those changes and automatically convert and transfer your data. Doing it the other way around could get you an "Incorrect File Structure" error, with Morning Flight aborting.

As always, back up your .TPS files beforehand. Copy and paste those files, don't move them. Keep the originals in their old location until you have everything up and running.
