Morning Flight Gold and Pixelblitz

Overview

The Gold Edition and a digital-only Pixelblitz version represent our top-tier products. Both add order entry, order tracking, and invoicing to the Silver Edition. And both include a QuickBooks link for transferring customers into Morning Flight, and invoices into QuickBooks. For expert estimators there's My Way Pricing, a powerful manual-mode option found only in the Gold, Pixelblitz, and Skypricer.

The Gold Edition is priced at $595.00 and can be downloaded at the Morning Flight Shop. The price of the digital-only Pixelblitz, identical to the Gold but without offset, is $495.00. Both come with a perpetual use license, free support, and no annual fees. In line with our standard policy, upgrades from lower editions are always available for the difference in price, regardless of when the lower edition was purchased. All Morning Flight programs use the same data files, so upgrading will be seamless.

My Way Pricing

Morning Flight's innovative automatic mode is by design product-centric. You begin each quote by selecting a product that then controls makeready, press speed, and other parameters. Using a digital SLR metaphor, when the camera is set on auto you can be sure to get a usable picture, often a very good picture, but you may have to jump through hoops to capture an image that's out of the ordinary. Set on manual, the sky is the limit but the responsibility is now all yours. The end result could be anything from two Dobermans in a coal cellar at midnight to a cover shot for National Geographic.

The Gold and Pixelblitz editions let you switch between 'Safe for Cousin Mel' estimating and a less safe but more flexible alternative: The option of full manual control. My Way pricing starts with selecting the press, then manually entering job-specific amounts for imposition and RIP, makeready and press speed, either with sliders or via custom entry fields. You can even create quotes the automatic way, then edit them manually in My Way.

Order Entry

The Order Entry window looks and acts just like the window you're familiar with when making quotes - no learning curve. The only difference is the blue panel on the right that can be flipped through like a book by either clicking the radio buttons or pressing the PgUp/PgDn keys. And, of course, just a single quantity, down from the three for quotes.

Converting a Quote

In Morning Flight, that's as easy as highlighting the quote in a selection window and choosing the quantity ordered.

Exporting Invoices into QuickBooks

The Gold and Pixelblitz editions generate invoices but don't accept payments or track receivables. For that you need a full-blown accounting system. In much of the world that's likely to be QuickBooks. With Version 14.1 and the Transaction Pro 5 Importer from Baystate you can eliminate the nuisance of having to key in a stack of invoices into QuickBooks every night.

The Transaction Pro 5 Importer is available directly from Baystate with a perpetual use license. A trial version can be downloaded from the Baystate website.

Importing Customers from QuickBooks

You don't need the Baystate Transaction Importer to transfer QuickBooks customers into Morning Flight, just the new Morning Flight Skypricer, Gold or Pixelblitz where everything's built in. Exporting lists out of QuickBooks has always been easier and more reliable than transactions, primarily because the exchange of lists is riding on tried-and-true CSV files. With version 14.1, we've automated the second step, importing and merging your QuickBooks customers with those already stored in your Morning Flight file.
