Printing Job Tickets

Overview

Job tickets describe what the job is, what has to be done to complete it, and when it has to be delivered. No other piece of paper plays a more critical role in avoiding mistakes and assuring a smooth work flow. With that much on the line, you'd expect the program to offer a variety of options of how print job tickets and job-related lists, along with delivery notes and shipping labels. It doesn't disappoint.

First, some quick definitions: Job Sheets are for office use and describe the job, but may lack some details on how to produce it. Job Tickets add production specs but take away pricing. They're meant to travel with the job from prepress to delivery. Both include keywords, customer alerts, and special instructions.

Work Session: Having just entered a bunch of orders in one sitting, you certainly don't want to print all those job sheets separately, one at a time. When you select Print > Orders > My Work Session, a window opens in which the last orders you entered have been preselected. They're all checked, provided you haven't printed them yet. That's your work session. To print the work session sheets as a group, complete with matching tickets,

ButtonPrintClick the Print button, then click Ok on the message box.

Selecting Print > Orders > List of my Orders lets you print a range of orders within a certain time frame, placed by a single customer or all. You can have the list sorted by order number, customer name, order value, or status (open, shipped, invoiced). Check the Show Preview box for an on-screen preview before you send the list to the printer.
