Updating Offset Products

Overview

This topic describes how to update an offset product or create a new one.

1.ButtonStore Click the My Store button, then click My Products.

2.In the black panel, click one of the first four Categories (Sheets, Cards/Labels, Envelopes, or Carbonless).

3.ButtonAddButtonChange Click either the Add button to create a new offset product, or the Update button to edit an existing one. For this demo, we'll add a new product, based on "Bulletins, 8-1/2x11" over which we've placed the highlight bar.

ANote

When you click the button pointed to by the arrow in the product window, the configuration will change from 1/0 to 2/0, and then to 4/0. With offset products, that's merely a way to show pricing for alternate run configurations. It's not saved as part of the product's properties.

4.Enter the Name (From the Desk of), then click the Size button and change the finished size to 5-1/2x8-1/2.

5.Right-click the Composition slider to lower composition to Light. This is the setting the product will default to. It can be changed when you make the quote, where you can enter the actual time in hours and minutes.

6.Click the Properties button to change Makeready and Run settings. If those were the only properties we wanted to change from the values we inherited from bulletins, we could right-click the makeready and run sliders in the product window and be done. But we also want to change stripping, ink coverage, and packaging.

7.Drag the Stripping, Coverage and Makeready sliders to low, and the Run slider to easy.

ANote
The quick way to change property settings is to use Jet-Entry. All the sliders have five settings: very low, low, medium, high, and very high. Entering a "1" sets a slider to very low, entering a "5" to very high. To set all five sliders to match the example, enter "22322" in the Jet-Entry box.

8.Click the Packaging button and select Letterbox. Click OK, then close the properties window with OK as well.

9.ButtonStop Back in the product window, click the Stop button. Uncheck Print 4 Colors and Print 2 Sides to prevent this product from being quoted that way. Click OK.
